Director (Personnel), SJVN Limited Visit to Villages around Luhri Hydro Electric Project.

Sh. R S Katoch, Director (Personnel),SJVN Limited on 5th June 2010 visited to villages likely to be affected by Luhri Hydro Electric Project-775 MW (HP) being executed by SJVN limited. He was associated with Sh. D Sarveswar, Dy. General Manager (Personnel), Sh. Ravi Uppal, Sr. Manager(Monitoring), Sh. Awadhesh Prasad, Manager(Rehabilitation) from the corporate office Shimla and Sh. S K Sharma, Adl. General Manager(Civil), Sh. Mukul Tirkey, AGM (Personnel) ,Sh. KK Taman, DGM(Electrical), Sh. Rakesh Singh, Manager(Environment), Sh. Baljeet Singh, Manager (Personnel) ,Sh. SK Meena, Engineer(Rehabilitation) , Ms. Neha Gupta , Officer(Personnel) and Sh. OP Negi, Land Acquisition Officer from the project .


The objective of the village visit was to make the local people aware of the impact of Luhri project and sharing of their views and expectations. The team visited village Marola, in Panchayat Bindla, District Mandi and village Lunsu, in Panchayat Chebri ,District Shimla. Sh. I R Sharma , Panchyat Pradhan , Chebri alongwith Head of the Panchayat Committee Sh. Sharma and a large number of villagers participated in the village meeting. Sh. R S Katoch, Director (Personnel) and other officers explained the villagers about the Luhri project proponents and its lay out. The villagers queried about the issues like land acquisition, area development, resettlement & rehabilitation, benefits generated from the projects etc.


The villagers also put forth their some expectations like employment opportunity, health facility, water facility, education facility, skill development of local youth etc. Director (Personnel) replied to their queries. The day of the meetings 5th June being World Environment Day, Sh. R S Katoch, Director(Personnel) distributed plant saplings amongst the villagers to celebrate the day. The villagers assured to extend their cooperation for construction of the Luhri project. The meetings in the both villages took place in a friendly environment and in the spirit of mutual cooperation.
